Laser light source

For a more immersive home cinema experience with long-lasting performance, the UHZ50+ features Optoma’s 4K UHD Laser technology for sharp images, excellent colour and contrast, low maintenance with instant on/off. Compared to bulb-based projectors, the UHZ50+ boasts 6x the lifespan before light source replacement and is completely free of mercury. Laser technology delivers up to 30,000 hours of light source life that maintains stunning image quality throughout its lifespan.

Optoma laser projectors use high-quality lasers to create the projected image. In many situations, the perceived brightness from laser illumination projectors can be twice that of an equivalent lamp-based model. They also deliver increased efficiency to maintain consistent brightness, superior colour performance, instant on/off and an extraordinary life span of up to 30,000 hours.

The UHZ50+ features Optoma’s airtight optical engine with IP6X certification. The airtight enclosure prevents dust particles from entering the unit and ensures long-lasting and reliable performance.

True 4K UHD Resolution

What is True 4K UHD? The Consumer Technology Association (CTA)® definition of 4K Ultra HD resolution states the display resolution must have at least 8 million active pixels.

The Optoma UHZ50+ projector provides CTA (Consumer Technology Association) approved True 4K UHD resolution, capable of projecting 8.3 million on-screen pixels. That’s four times more detail than Full HD and twice as many from competing technology, which only delivers 4.1 million pixels.

4K Ultra HD with at least 8 million active pixels displayed packs every detail into your movie or gaming experience, just as the director intended.

HDR and HLG compatible

The UHZ50+ supports HDR10 and Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) processing. When an HDR / HLG signal is detected, the projector automatically switches to HDR / HLG display mode. Optoma’s HDR colour mapping and tone mapping technology enables HDR / HLG movies or games to be presented at their best in terms of colour accuracy and improved contrast ratio through dynamic contrast.

HDR (High Dynamic Range), is a standard that comes with a higher dynamic range in video signals, allowing the image to be shown with more brightness and colour without losing any details. With this technology onboard, the UHZ50+ allows you to see far more detail and texture. Objects look more solid and lifelike and the extra detail creates a greater sense of depth.
